Speed. The Ability

One thing I think about when I tell people about racing is how I can give them little tips that can help them be a better skier. One of my biggest things that I tell people that want speed is turn. If you want speed you have to turn. I got this Idea from a wise man in the White Mountains. He told me “Turning is the key to speed. Once you master turning, Speed will come”. After I heard this, every day that I ski I think about my turns before I think about my speed. It takes time, but it will come.

HEAD or Rossignol, Leki or Swix

One thing that goes through my mind every time I ski is the thought " I'm i using the best brand for skiing" and there a lot of ski brands, and each brand I say shines in its own way. Leki poles for instance, my favorite because of the slight tilt in the handle of the pole makes all the difference compared to other racing poles. Another thing about Leki poles is there clip-on system to keep the pole with your hand. To add if it have the best I think about skis. Rossignol or HEAD. Have had them both, and have loved them both. To me they both shine in their own way. for an example HEAD skis to me have a better hook to the edges, while Rossignol GS skis can't be beat by anything. But, you never know, skiing equipment by all brands are need, so don't worry about what brands to get, just get the skis, poles, anything that works with you the best. Edges, Keep' um sharp

Howdy people that follow my blog I just went skiing this weekend and it was great! I know the big thing going around is how there’s NO SNOW! And to tell you the truth there really isn’t. My friends in Colorado and Utah and even there it’s pretty snowless. One thing I have to say is keep those edges sharp. When I went skiing it is all ice and no snow but I had sharp edges so I was good. I was real good. Also one thing I noticed about skiing this year is that if you want to go fast (and I know everyone does) and you want be able to carve easy (which everyone wants) is to commit and go with it. Good luck out there and I’ll let you know if it gets better.
